Orientation & Clearances

Strong Leader Orientation

All new volunteers, including Strong Leader mentors, event volunteers, and other participants, must participate in one virtual or in-person orientation session with GIGP before they can begin to volunteer. Returning Strong Leaders are not required to attend but are welcome. For virtual sessions, the Meet Link will be sent to your email closer to the date.

Fall 2026 orientations will be held on:

September 23: 5pm-6pm IN-PERSON at the GIGP Office (1620 Murray Ave. Pittsburgh PA 15217)
September 30th: 5pm-6pm VIRTUAL

Required Clearances (Pennsylvania)

All Pennsylvania volunteers are required to complete FBI, Act 33, and 34 clearances.

*NOTE: If you plan on ONLY volunteering to mentor a college mentee, you do not need to fill out this section, and may skip. Clearances must be obtained if you plan to volunteer at any point with the GIGP elementary or middle school girls.

New Volunteers: Submit clearances below and include expiration dates.
Returning Volunteers: The GIGP office will review your existing clearances, and someone will be in touch to share the appropriate next steps based on what's on file.

All SWSG volunteers are required to complete an annual CORI check through Boston Public Schools. To complete the CORI check, please complete and submit the external form linked below and upload a photo of a non-expired government-issued photo ID. Upload the same government-issued ID named on the CORI form.
